Acquiring new interests

I consider myself lucky to continuously be intrigued by a variety of new activities. Until now, blogging had not really made the long list of things I would like to try. But I've discovered recently the power of community and communication, and am now beginning to understand not only the importance of these things in my life, but also the value of technology in our efforts to make connections with others.
Since I was young, I've had an interest in outdoor adventuring as well as in various forms of crafting. In the past few years, I've really come to appreciate the joys of being outside in wild places and exploring the marvelous world we call home, but also enjoy the chance to use my creativity and fabricate meaningful craft items. By all means, I am no expert at many of the activities that have caught my attention, but that doesn't lessen the excitement of either topping out on a challenging route or mastering the purl stitch.
If I could say I have one main goal in life, it is to find different ways to both experience the world around me and make deeper connections to the people and places with which I interact. Hopefully this blog will help me to achieve that and maybe help others do the same. I'm looking forward to this new adventure and hope you'll follow along with me.
